Alexa is the voice-controlled personal assistant behind Amazon Echo, loved by millions of customers around the world. We are looking for a Senior Software Development Enginer to lead the team who seeks to provide seamless experiences for customers with Alexa.
Key job responsibilities:
As a Senior Software Development Engineer, you will be focused on the design, implementation, and delivery of software in ambiguous and complex problem spaces. You will be working with an assorted set of stakeholders across organization such as product, program management, and UX teams and will influence the technology decisions that will drive future products and features that directly affect our growth in this critical space.
Basic Qualifications:
- BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
- Extensive years of professional experience with Software Development or relevant industry experience.

We are building the Alexa eXperience Data (AXD) Platform which is a set of services providing data products that support customer experience (CX) insights. Those insights help the organization understand drivers for customer engagement and how Alexa features are being consumed. We innovate on behalf of our customers to improve their experience.
Key job responsibilities:
- Specify technical requirements, design, build and operate software services and web applications that support data analytics workflows.
- Lead projects developed by multiple engineers and deliver through others.
- Define technology strategy and own system design and architecture.
- Drive good engineering practices and operational excellence in the team.

We are looking for a Data Scientist who will be responsible to develop cutting-edge scientific solutions to optimize our Pan-European fulfillment strategy, to maximize our Customer Experience and minimize our cost and carbon footprint.
You will partner with the worldwide scientific community to help design the optimal fulfillment strategy for Amazon. You will also collaborate with technical teams to develop optimization tools for network flow planning and execution systems. Finally, you will also work with business and operational stakeholders to influence their strategy and gather inputs to solve problems.
Key job responsibilities:
- Design and develop mathematical models to optimize inventory placement and product flows.
- Design and develop statistical and optimization models for planning Supply Chain under uncertainty.
- Manage several, high impact projects simultaneously.
- Consult and collaborate with business and technical stakeholders across multiple teams to define new opportunities to optimize our Supply Chain.
- Communicate data-driven insights and recommendations to diverse senior stakeholders through technical and/or business papers.
Basic Qualification:
- Experience working as a Data Scientist
- Experience applying theoretical models in an applied environment
- Experience with data scripting languages (e.g., SQL, Python, R, or equivalent) or statistical/mathematical software (e.g., R, SAS, Matlab, or equivalent)
- Experience with machine learning/statistical modeling data analysis tools and techniques, and parameters that affect their performance
- Practical experience in several of the following areas: Linear Programming, Dynamic Programming, Stochastic Optimization, Robust Optimization, Black Box Optimization, Machine Learning.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in Python, Perl, or another scripting language
- Experience in a ML or data scientist role with a large technology company
- Experience in Supply Chain Optimization.
