Requirements
The following skills and experience are key to succeeding in this role:
- Excellent knowledge of modern versions of PHP
- Excellent knowledge across Frontend technologies, including HTML5, CSS, JavaScript
- Experience across different Frontend frameworks
- Experience working with relational databases (SingleStore/MEMSQL a bonus)
- Experience maintaining applications on Linux platforms in cloud environments.
- Background following Agile/Scrum methodologies in a professional setting.
- Demonstrated experience with technical troubleshooting.
- Ability to work independently and with a team, including with a team across different time zones.

You'll be working on building a robust, modern user portal using Vaadin Flow for the frontend and Java for the backend. Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain robust and scalable back-end solutions using Java technologies.
- Collaborate with business users to develop front ends using the vaddin flow framework to integrate user-facing elements with server-side logic.

- Computer science Degree

- Proficiency in Core Java programming language JDK 21 and related frameworks (e.g., JDBC, JPA , JMS, JAXB, JAXRS , Servlets & Spring).
- Solid understanding of web development technologies such as HTML, CSS and JavaScript and WebSocket’s.

This is a full-time, long-term remote opportunity for an experienced Python backend engineer with a strong mathematical and optimization background.
Role Description:
The client is building a mobile-first platform that transforms the agricultural supply chain and logistics management through automation, real-time tracking, and intuitive interfaces. The system connects farmers, logistics providers, and business buyers, offering real-time product tracking, order management, route optimization, and business dashboards.
A key component of the platform is OLA (Optimizing Logistics Algorithms) – the system responsible for matching supply and demand, calculating optimal routes, quantities, and quality levels, and coordinating logistics execution.
This role is ideal for a backend engineer with strong Python skills, experience with optimization algorithms, and designing scalable, cloud-native systems in production environments.
Technical Responsibilities and Skills:
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services using Python and modern frameworks
- Build and improve algorithms for complex linear/logistics optimization challenges
- Develop secure and reliable RESTful APIs and integrate with cloud services (AWS)
- Implement and maintain containerized services using Docker and Kubernetes
- Ensure backend systems follow security best practices and are cloud-optimized
- Solve algorithmic and mathematical problems related to logistics and scheduling
