Currently our platform team is evaluating if Google's new Firestore could tackle some problems which we have with Firebase. We want to reinforce our platform development team and we're looking for an additional developer to join us on long-term basis.

Our Tech Stack and ENV:

• Node v4 - v8. Mainly v6. We're moving to Node 8 because of async/await.
• ExpressJS 4.x. We're moving to KoaJS, because of better async/await support.

You will be expected to:

Your mission at SimScale is, together with our developers, to build and continuously improve a robust and scalable infrastructure for running our development and production services.
This means staying on top of changes in the cloud computing world, but also technologies and concepts like micro-services and containers, to help foresee the architecture and infrastructure SimScale will need tomorrow.

Requirements:

• At least 4 years of experience architecting and maintaining the infrastructure for a complex service-oriented system;

• Very solid skills in Linux or comparable OS;
• Service-mindset: You feel responsible for keeping the infrastructure running and continuously looking for the next improvements;
• Data-driven: Knowing how to collect data, such as service or infrastructure metrics, and analyze and act on them;

About the role

The Data Technology team within PitchBook’s Product organization develops solutions to support and accelerate our data operations processes. This domain impacts core workflows of data capture, ingestion, and hygiene across many datasets. This role works collaboratively with our Data Operations, Engineering, and customer-facing Product teams to strategically align the roadmap with business needs and ruthlessly prioritize development efforts to drive roadmap delivery and operational efficiency.
